Systems Biology
The ability to characterise and model complete biological processes – an approach known as systems biology – has been made possible by advances in cell and molecular biology, mathematics, engineering, physics and computing. Scotland is particularly well placed to develop systems biology because it has both the appropriate infrastructure and the interdisciplinary research environment required. The SULSA member universities have made a strategic commitment to systems biology. The SULSA Systems Biology Theme is helping Scotland become a world leader in this rapidly developing field by building a critical mass of expertise and
supporting world-class facilities for large dataset generation.
