Micro and Nano Fabrication

The James Watt Nanofabrication Centre (JWNC) at the University of Glasgow offers microfabrication/nanofabrication capabilities to the interested researcher in the life science community in Scotland who wishes to apply miniaturisation techniques (lab-on-a-chip devices) to solve various technological problems including:

  • cell sorting
  • microfluidic gradient formation
  • biosensor fabrication
  • thin film electrodes
A dedicated SULSA BioMEMS Technologist (Dr Norbert Klauke) is providing technical support and training, and coordinating the use of the JWNC so that researchers at the SULSA institutions can benefit from the expertise of the facility staff.
