Formal Approaches to Modelling Bio-Molecular Networks

24th – 27th April 2012, at The Informatics Forum, Edinburgh

The Centre for Systems Biology  Edinburgh (CSBE) will be running a residential, practical workshop entitled ‘Formal Approaches to Modelling Bio-molecular Networks’ to be held from 24th April to 27th April 2012, in Edinburgh.

This workshop will introduce both classical and emerging modelling approaches, and is open to all researchers wishing to extend their modelling expertise. There are no geographical restrictions on who can attend, and accommodation, subsistence and tuition are free to academic researchers.

The course is open to PhD students and  postdocs who are working, or about to start work, on a  project in the life sciences that includes a significant level of computational modelling. The course is aimed primarily at academic researchers, but a limited number of places are also available for researchers from industry.

Applicants may have a theoretical (i.e., maths/computer science/physics/engineering) background, or an experimental background in the life sciences if they have a level of math skills that includes calculus and basic probability theory.

The course will be taught in English, so applicants should be proficient in speaking, reading and listening to English to at least the minimum standard that Edinburgh University requires for post-graduate science courses. (For more information on language standards click here.)
