SUPA PALS Scheme

A SUPA PhD student in your lab?

As part of their Physics and Life Sciences (PALS) programme, the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA) would like to offer physics PG students the opportuntity to spend 3 months in a life science lab or group.

The aim is to immerse the student in the language of the life sciences, and demonstrate the realities of life science research. If you already collaborate with a physics group, this is an opportunity to host one of their students at the "coal face". If you do not have an existing collaboration but would like to make links with the physics community, this is your opportunity. Limited consumables funding is available. Projects must be self-contained, and students will be expected to write a short report.

Please fill out the application form (MS word) and return it to Cait MacPhee, Acting PALS Theme Leader, by email by noon on the 1st of September. Projects will be offered to students at the start of the academic year.

Contact Cait MacPHee cait.macphee@ed.ac.uk for more details.
